ChuckWhelon InfluenceMap by chuckwheel
ChuckWhelon InfluenceMap
While surfing around on Google images just now I came across one of these Influence Maps and had to waste an hour making one of my own. All very old-skule stuff here of course. These are the artists and comics that I grew up with and who I've admired the most and the longest. For their pure skill, coolness, funniness, and ability to transport me to another place. They made me want to draw comics and be a 'nartist myself. However, I think there'd be a more diverse crowd if I was to do a "contemporaries who I admire most" one.

Here's a link to the original meme & template:

Xena 01 LowRes by chuckwheel
Xena 01 LowRes
Just for fun I made this picture of Xena the Warrior Princess. I know she doesn't look much like Lucy Lawless here, but I was going for my own take on the character. I guess this is kind of a younger-looking Xena.

“Wizard Pickles” is a puzzle adventure book, set in a cartoon fantasy world. It's the tale of young Mazie Pickles and her crazy aunt who works up at the local castle as a wizard.

When complete it will consist of 12 large, full-color 'busy scenes'. Each image will have one or more picture puzzles of varying degrees of difficulty, ranging from simple search and find activities, to complex logic problems. There are mazes and codes to be solved and a larger, overarching mystery that runs through the whole book.

It's aimed at kids, but there's enough in there that it should be fun and challenging for young and old alike. At the most basic level, "Wizard Picklescan just be read as a nice little story involving magical pickle gnomes.

I question why I haven't been able to find you before today.
Verily, in Bish's honor, I shalt proceed to watch you posthaste!

Anyways, it surprises me that I haven't seen your stuff in stores. You're quite the talented comic :)
Unless... I'm just not looking that hard? I'd love to get hard copies of these comics :)

okay, so ive decided that your art is just too cool for me to not be watching you. heheh

i would suggest you take advantage of DA's new folder system. its easier for organizing art of the same topic or style, and you can browse through a specific folder, so it would make reading comics alot easer since you could just click "next" and i would be the next page. :) just an idea. cuz i use it, and its helped me. hehe

Thanks for the tip. I'm on the road this week, and subject to a slow internet connection, so I might have to wait until I'm back home before I can figure it out. Still, I'll take a look. Thanks!
